Expressing yourself through movement can help connect the mind, body, soul. It is a scientific fact that moving is good for a healthy body and mind. Moving regularly is an investment of your mind and body. One of the more expressive ways to integrate movement into any disorder is through dance therapy. Dance movement therapy is the psychotherapeutic use of movement and dance to support the intellectual emotional and functions of the body.

Dance: a range of a different practice including breath, posture, gesture pedestrian movement rhythmical movement and less often- a more technical or style — specific form of dancing skill is not a requirement for people to begin this therapy and learning steps isn’t what takes place within the session
• Embodiment: the connection one may have with your physical self is of high value because it can support a body-mind integration
• Creativity: the process that enables patients to find new solutions to problems
• Imagery: symbolism and metaphor: important tools used to access difficult feelings such as anger or fear. Using their tools allows the patient to work through problematic issues indirectly
• Non-verbal communication: people don’t always have the word to express what they are feeling. Sometimes it is easier to reach and communicate emotions too often people non verbally.

Dancing bolsters physical, and mental health by healing to prevent falls in posture, flexibility, lift the mood, and ease anxiety. It’s also a fun activity that sharper the mind to increase breathing power through movement strength and can reduce pain and stiffness. Dance is joy.
